A great turn out at the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show

Against the odds, with storm Ciara affecting travel and the Coronavirus outbreak causing operational issues for many, there was a great turnout at this year’s Southern Manufacturing & Electronics show. The event was nearly 10% busier than last year and the mood felt very positive, providing the perfect opportunity to discuss casting projects.

The International Exhibition & Conference Centre in Farnborough provided a world-class venue for over 800 exhibitors showcasing their products and capabilities to over 9,000 visitors from a broad range of industry sectors. We spoke to visitors from the electronics, automotive, aerospace, defence, food processing, medical & scientific equipment and general engineering industries, to name a few.

Lots of interest was generated, particularly around sand casting, pressure die casting and investment casting but also around gravity die and machining, with aluminium alloys being the most discussed material over the three days.

Some prospects we spoke to are having their current supply impacted by the Coronavirus epidemic and are looking for alternative solutions. With our strong UK manufacturing base and alternative low-cost sources, they were keen to talk to us about our offering and we are confident in our ability to respond to their needs.

Follow up discussions are well underway with many of the people we met during the show and we are optimistic that the show will drive further growth for the Expromet Group, including Haworth Castings and Investacast.

If you didn’t have the chance to catch up with us at the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics show and would like to discuss your aluminium sand and gravity die casting requirements, please contact us on 01271 866 200 or email [email protected]
